...لبنان في نصوص الكتاب المقدّس

 

 

 معنى اسم لبنان -
يشتقّ اسم لبنان من الجذر "لَبَن" الّذي يعني "أبيض"، ويقول بعضهم إنّه يرجع إلى الجذر "لُبان" ويعني "بخّور". وتأتي فكرة البياض من وجود الثّلج الأبيض على قمم جباله الشاهقة لفترة تقارب السّتّة أشهر من السّنة (إرميا 18: 14)، أو من جباله الكلسيّة البيضاء. أمّا فكرة البخّور فيدعمها ذكر الكتاب المقدّس "رائحة لبنان" كإشارة للصّموغ والعطور والبخور الّتي تعبق بها غابات لبنان وأحراجه (هوشع 14: 6). وقد تمتزج الفكرتان معاً في الكلمة "لبنان" إذ تُشير إلى البخور الأبيض النّقيّ، اللُّبان، الّذي قدّمه المجوس للمسيح عند ولادته (متّى 2: 11).
حدود لبنان
يُقدّم الكتاب المقدّس سجلاًّ دقيقاً لحدود لبنان الّتي تمتدّ من شمال تلال الجليل شمال فلسطين، وتضمّ جبل حرمون (جبل الشّيخ) الّذي يُسمّى أيضاً "سيريون" أو "سنير" (تثنية 3: 9)، والذي يطلّ على دمشق (نشيد 7: 4)، وسلسلة جبال لبنان الشّرقيّة Anti Lebanon خلفه حتّى مدخل حماة (يشوع 13: 5). كما يضمّ سهل البقاع (يشوع 11: 17)، وسلسلة الجبال الغربيّة المـُحاذية للبحر (1 ملوك 5: 9). أمّا أهمّ مدن الساحل الّلبناني فكانت صور وصيدا وجبيل وأرواد (حزقيال 27: 8 و 9).
مسؤوليّة لبنان
يُشبّه الوحي المقدّس المسيح بلبنان، فيقول عنه: "طَلعتُهُ كَلُبنان. فتىً كالأرز" (نشيد 5: 15). ممّا يُلقي على كتف لبنان مسؤوليّة كبيرة ويُفسّر دورات الأيّام الّتي يُواجهها هذا البلد المـُميّز، الذي يختبر البركات كلّما تواضع وطلب وجه الرّبّ (إشعياء 29: 17-19)، ويختبر المآسي كلّما تكبّر (إشعياء 2: 12-15؛ 10: 33، 34(، وكلّما سيّب حدوده وأرضه وشعبه )زكريّا 11: 1). إلاّ أنّ الأفضل له أن يُعطي مجده لله ليُرفّعه (إشعياء 35: 2؛ 60: 13)

الاهتراء السياسي يزيل الغطاء التجميلي عن "الطائف" (ليلى نقولا الرحباني)

منذ الاستقلال وحتى منتصف السبعينات من القرن الماضي، حمل العقد بين الطوائف اللبنانية اسم "الميثاق الوطني"، وهو العقد الذي قامت به طوائف - سبق وجودها وجود الدولة - خشيت على نفسها من سلطة دولة مدنية قوية قادرة، فأقامت نوعاً من الدستور الذي كرّس لها دورها ونفوذها، ثم أعادت صياغته في وثيقة الوفاق الوطني التي استبدلت كلمة "كيان" الميثاقية بكلمة "وطن" ذات المدلول الروحي.

منذ ذلك الوقت ولغاية الآن، جعلت الطائفة من نفسها ممراً ومعبراً ضرورياً للفرد من أجل الوصول إلى وظائف الدولة، وإلى المجلس النيابي، وهكذا أصبح الانتساب إلى الوطن انتساباً غير مباشر عن طريق الطائفة، فانتُقصت المواطنية، وتمت التضحية بالكفاءة والجدارة، على حساب المحسوبية والزبائنية.

مما لا شك فيه أن الأزمات المتلاحقة التي يعيشها الوطن اللبناني منذ عام 2005 ولغاية الآن، تشهد أن الطائف، وبعدما أزيل الغطاء التجميلي الضابط له، ظهر على حقيقته، بوصفه نظاماً معطلاً غير قادر على إدارة النزاع في الدولة بالوسائل الدستورية والقانونية والديمقراطية، وهو لم يخرج عن كونه "تسوية" تمّ بموجبها تكريس ميثاق جديد عكس موازين القوى التي استجدت بعد الحروب التي أنهكت اللبنانيين وأضعفت المسيحيين.

ولعل الأداء الحكومي التعطيلي، يضاف إليه النظام المعطل أساساً، هو ما جعل اللبنانيين يشعرون أنهم بحاجة إلى حل جراحي للوضع اللبناني الهشّ والمهترئ، خصوصاً في ظل الأحداث السورية، والتحريض المذهبي المنتشر في منطقة عائمة على بركان من البارود، يُخشى انفجاره في أي لحظة.

وفي تحليل للأسباب التي تجعل من هذه الحكومة فاقدة القدرة تعتمد سياسة الهروب إلى الأمام، وإدارة الأزمات لا حلّها، نجد الأسباب الآتية:

- الحسابات الانتخابية الضيقة لبعض الفرقاء في الحكومة، والتي جعلتهم يقومون بإسقاط هيبة الدولة، كما فعل رئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي والوزير الصفدي في قضية شادي المولوي؛ المطلوب بتهم تهديد أمن الدولة والانضمام إلى تنظيم مسلح، ما أعطى رسالة قوية بأن الإفلات من العقاب ممكن في حال تلطى الإرهابيون وقُطاع الطرق وتستروا بطوائفهم، وهي بريئة منهم، وهذا ما أدى إلى تسيّب أمني جعل بعض المواطنين يستسهلون اللجوء إلى الشارع وقطع الطرقات الرئيسية، وقطع أرزاق اللبنانيين، وحرق الإطارات وقطع الطرق الدولية، وتهديد القوى الأمنية.

- الهدف التعطيلي والتوتيري للوزراء المحسوبين على النائب وليد جنبلاط، والذي اعترف به أكرم شهيب صراحة قائلاً: "إنهم دخلوا من أجل تعطيل المشاريع التي يتقدم بها تكتل التغيير والإصلاح، وإنهم نجحوا في ذلك مع رئيس الجمهورية ورئيس الحكومة".

- أداء رئيس الجمهورية الذي يتخلى عن صلاحياته - وهي نادرة بالمناسبة - لمنافسة وزراء تكتل التغيير والإصلاح على صلاحياتهم، فالرئيس الذي من المفترض أنه رئيس كل لبنان، ينافس في الدائرة المذهبية والمناطقية الضيقة، ما يجعل الفرقاء الآخرين في الحكومة يتذرعون بموقف الرئيس لعرقلة المشاريع التي يتقدم بها وزراء تكتل التغيير والإصلاح، وهي بمعظمها مشاريع حياتية حيوية، وأهمها ملف الكهرباء.

- شعور الاطمئنان بعدما برزت ضرورة المحافظة على هذه الحكومة في ظل الوضع الإقليمي المتفجر، جعل الحكومة اللبنانية تستخدم نفس السياسة التي استخدمها الحكام العرب سابقًاً للتهرب من مسؤولياتهم تجاه شعوبهم، حين تستروا بالخطر الخارجي ليحرموا شعوبهم لقمة الخبز والأمن الاجتماعي والكرامة والديمقراطية.

كل هذه الحسابات السياسية الضيقة، بالإضافة إلى الوضع الإقليمي الفائق الدقة والحساسية، جعل الدولة اللبنانية تعيش اهتراء أفقياً وعمودياً، وتسير مسرعة للدخول في نفق مظلم قد لا تظهر تباشير النور منه إلا بعد انقضاء الانتخابات الأميركية وإيجاد تسوية للقضية السورية، والتي يبدو أنها مؤجلة إلى السنة المقبلة، فهل يستطيع الاقتصاد اللبناني الصمود كل هذه الفترة؟

من هو مطالب بالتعطيل وتأجيج الفتن، واختراع أصناف التوتير الأمني والطائفي والمذهبي، قد لا يدرك أن الحرائق المطلوب منه إشعالها في لبنان قد تمتد لتحرقه قبل أن تنتشر في هشيم المجتمع اللبناني، وهذه الحكومة التي عطّلت مصالح الناس وخربت أرزاقهم وحرمتهم الكهرباء لصالح تمويل المحكمة الجنائية الدولية الخاصة بلبنان، تبدو اليوم أكثر من أي وقت مضى، وبعد إعلان تكتل التغيير والإصلاح مقاطعة جلساتها، عارية من ورقة التوت التي ظللتها طوال الفترة الماضية، وقد لا تستطيع بعدها الاستمرار بالتذرع بالوضع الإقليمي لبقائها، وقد لا يعلم مَن وضع العصي في دواليب الإصلاح التي حاول تكتل التغيير والإصلاح إطلاق عجلته بأن عباءة الحكومة التي قد يخلعها وزراء التغيير والإصلاح عنهم هي أضيق بكثير من عباءة المعارضة القوية من الخارج لكل طبقة الفساد التي يغذيها أمراء الطوائف، والتي إن استمرت في سياسة هدم الدولة المنظمة فهي ستهدم الهيكل على الجميع.

في المحصلة، وبالرغم من كل ذلك التغني بفذاذة تلك الصيغة الطائفية التوافقية، يتبدى لنا يوماً بعد يوم أن التوافقية لا تقوم بوظيفتها الأساسية المرجوة منها عندما تكون الحاجة ماسة إليها، أي في زمن الأزمات، وأثبت النظام السياسي الطائفي اللبناني أنه نظام لا ينتج إلا الأزمات، ولا يسمح للبنانيين بالعيش في ظل حكم القانون، والتأسيس لبناء السلام في لبنان.. إن اجتماع الطوائف في بقعة جغرافية لا يشكل مجتمعاً، كما أن الاتفاق العمودي بين الطوائف لا يشكل وطناً، هو اتفاق، إن حصل، يهدف إلى تجميد الوضع من قبل تلك الطوائف - المَزارع حتى يتسنى لها استغلاله لتأمين حصتها، والقضاء على أي محاولة للتغيير أو التجديد، أو الإصلاح.

Madame, Monsieur,

Vous vous présentez comme candidat à l’élection présidentielle française.

Vous aspirez, par conséquent, à diriger un des pays les plus "Zioconned" au monde depuis 1949...., mais surtout depuis 1997 et 2007 en particulier avec SARKO/MOSSAD...., sur les plans économique. services speciaux.... et militaire, mais certainement le pays qui a donné le plus au monde, dans l’histoire moderne, en termes de valeurs et de repères humains. A travers la révolution française et la charte des Droits de l’Homme et du Citoyen, la France a ouvert une nouvelle page dans l’histoire de l’Homme, jusqu'au Grand General De Gaulle, mais depuis, c'est le deluge de stupidité, arrogance, ignorance and more....au sein de la Repoublique des ripoux....
Ceci lui vaut certes beaucoup d’honneur, mais aussi une responsabilité majeure et historique.
Dans ce cadre, le Liban a toujours été très proche géographiquement, intellectuellement et culturellement de la France. Depuis Saint Louis, les liens entre les deux pays se sont établis, renforcés avec le temps par des moments forts de l’Histoire où les destins des deux peuples se sont croisés. Les nombreux mariages mixtes constatés depuis quelques années sont venus sceller ces relations par des liens de sang, rapprochant encore plus ces deux pays....

La communauté libanaise en France est probablement l’une des plus importantes parmi les composantes du pays, mais aussi des plus discrètes, donnant un exemple brillant d’intégration. Beaucoup de ses membres ont pu accéder à des postes clés de la société française (des élus nationaux et locaux, des grands patrons, ..), confirmant ainsi la réussite de ce modèle.
L’excellente intégration des libanais n’est que le fruit de la diversité et de la tolérance qu’ils ont vécu dans leur société libanaise d’origine composée elle-même de plusieurs communautés religieuses qui ont vécu ensemble en toute harmonie pendant des siècles. Même si cette harmonie a été perturbée ponctuellement par des conflits en rapport avec le problème plus global du Moyen Orient, elle a prouvé une meilleure stabilité par rapport aux pays théocratiques et militaires voisins et a donné un meilleur exemple de démocratie et de convivialité. A tel point que Sa Béatitude le Pape Jean Paul II a qualifié le Liban « de plus qu’un pays, un message de tolérance et de diversité ».

Madame, Monsieur,

Le Liban est en danger. L’équilibre démographique qui compose sa société est menacé par l’exode de son peuple (et plus particulièrement certaines de ses communautés) et par l’implantation d’autres populations à leur place.
Le Liban accueille actuellement une grande communauté de réfugiés palestiniens de près de 700 000 personnes (sur une population totale de moins de 4 millions d’habitants) qui résident sur son territoire et qui désespèrent d’obtenir le droit de retour dans leur terre d’origine. En effet, aucun projet en préparation pour la région ne prévoit officiellement et clairement ce retour. Pour illustration, cela équivaudrait à ce qu’on demande à la France un effort d’intégration d’une population de plus de 11 millions de réfugiés dont la terre aurait été envahie par un pays voisin.
Dans ces conditions, il est légitime que les libanais soient inquiets pour l’avenir de leur pays et même pour leur présence dans ce pays. Au moment où les pays du monde discutent de leurs projets économiques et de développement, les libanais restent à se poser des questions existentielles profondes.

Par ailleurs, les pays qui entourent le Liban sont proies à des déstabilisations de grande envergure qui nous font miroiter Liberté et Démocratie, mais qui ne s’avèrent être que des retours vers des systèmes d’ignorance et d’extrémisme d’un autre âge qui menacent les libertés individuelles fondamentales, la diversité et la cohabitation pacifique entre les communautés. Au vu de l’évolution, l’orient actuel risque fort de se transformer en une multitude d’entités séparées, basées sur l’identité religieuse prenant le pas sur l’identité nationale, et dirigées par des illuminés, ce qui conduira inévitablement cette région vers l’embrasement et l’enfoncera dans la violence.
De même, cette région bouillonnant de terrorisme et d’armes et accolée à l’Europe ne peut que constituer un vivier de mort et de terreur, tant en Europe que dans tout le monde occidental.
A la veille de cette élection, tous les Libanais de part le Monde, ainsi que ceux au cœur de la diaspora libanaise en France et présent dans quinze régions françaises, souhaitent obtenir de votre part deux engagements clairs, si vous êtes élu :
1. De refuser toute forme d’implantation de palestiniens au Liban et d’œuvrer pour sauvegarder la diversité de la société libanaise ainsi que la souveraineté et l’intégrité territoriale du Liban.
2. De lutter contre l’intégrisme et le totalitarisme qui s’installe dans la région, tout en prônant une évolution vers une vraie démocratie pacifique et progressive, capable de sauvegarder la présence, la liberté et les droits de toutes les communautés, en particulier les minorités.

Madame, Monsieur,

La France, au cœur de l’Europe, a un rôle majeur à jouer, de par son histoire et ses liens, tant au Liban que dans la région. Il est important qu’elle puisse assumer ce rôle dans l’intérêt des peuples concernés, de son propre peuple et de l’Humanité....

When he heard that one of his top military commanders, General David Petraeus, was talking to top GOP officials, including former Vice President Dick assassin Cheney, [ Head of the most Infamous White House Murder INC, ] in 2010 about challenging Obama for the presidency, President Obama and his advisers decided the best way to neutralize Petraeus was to make him the CIA director and take him out of the running for the presidency.... There was only one slight problem. Petraeus was nicknamed General "Betray-us" by his troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for a reason. If Petraeus, a "think tank" general, was capable of betraying his own troops in the field, why not his commander-in-chief?

Recent major failures of the CIA in its drone operations in the Middle East and Africa have some congressional sources wondering what is afoot with the CIA. Those in Washington with long memories recall how one of President Jimmy Carter's National Security Council staffers, on loan from the CIA, was feeding classified information on the Iran hostage situation, on sensitive negotiations with Tehran that sought a possible "October Surprise" by Carter to get the U.S. embassy hostages released by the Iranian government prior to the November election. The information was funneled by the staffer to Ronald Reagan's campaign director William Casey and the vice presidential nominee George H. W. Bush. The NSC staffer feeding the information to Casey and Bush was one Robert Gates. Gates would go on to become CIA director under President Bush 41 and Defense Secretary under Bush 43 and Obama.

Under Petraeus's watch the CIA has experienced its worst failures since those that occurred in its failure to foresee the Iranian embassy hostage situation that helped sink any possibility of a second term for President Carter's. And, perhaps not coincidentally, the failures, once again, partly involve Iran.

If Petraeus were to receive a report card for his time at the helm in Langley, it would be:

Petraeus's first major failure, Lebanon, involved Hezbollah's exposure of the CIA's agent network in the country... The CIA station chief, Daniel Patrick McFeely, has been outed as the CIA station chief at the U.S. embassy in the Awkar2 neighborhood of Beirut and its crooked T. Wing....at the G2.... Not only was Hezbollah able to out McFeely, who operates as "official cover" as part of the embassy staff, but they identified his predecessor, Louis Kahi....

By conducting surveillance of meetings at Pizza Huts and Starbucks in Lebanon between CIA case officers and agents, Hezbollah -- and their Iranian allies -- were able to construct the CIA's network that included over 1000 top Lebanese politicians, academics, medical doctors, journalists, military personnel, and celebrities. Essentially, the CIA's network in Lebanon has been largely rolled up. According to Al-Manar television The code names of the agents, names like Nick, Jim, Youssef, Liza and Jonah, were also exposed....LOL

The U.S. corporate media has refrained from publishing the names of the CIA station chiefs or the cover names of their Lebanese agents.....

Almost simultaneous to the Lebanon roll up, Iran announced it discovered a network composed of at least 42 CIA agents in Iran, operatives that worked in nuclear and other scientific centers, the military, biotechnology, and various universities. Iran's chief prosecutor has indicted fifteen of the 42 for espionage on behalf of the CIA and MOSSAD....the Siamese Twins since 1995 and the Clean Break.

On November 26, a U.S. air strike killed 24 Pakistani military personnel on the Pakistani border with Afghanistan. The incident, which frayed already poor relations between the United States Pakistan, resulted in the U.S. being expelled from the CIA's Shamsi airbase in Pakistan, one from which drones were launched, with few successes and many failures, against "terror" targets in Pakistan's volatile mountainous frontier region bordering Afghanistan.

The debacle that resulted in the loss of the Shamsi drone base was followed by the biggest intelligence failure to date, the downing by accident or hostile action, of an RQ-170 Sentinel "stealth"-enabled drone over Iran... President Obama was under pressure to launch a commando raid on Iran to retrieve the state-of-the art technology drone or bomb it and its security detail once it was discovered to be in Iranian hands. Obama chose to ask the Iranians to return the drone to the United States, something Tehran has refused to do, without, at the very least, an official apology.

Obama now has on his hands his Jimmy Carter moment and Petraeus has been manipulating all the "joy sticks" from his perch at crooked Langley.... Obama's potential opponents, including arch-neocon and uber-war hawk Newt Gingrich, are now pouncing on Obama as a weak and ineffectual president because he allowed the RQ-170 to fall into the hands of not only the Iranians, but possibly the Russians and Chinese who will attempt to re-engineer what is known as the mysterious "Beast of Kandahar" to leap frog and at least match the United States in stealth drone technology by years.

And just when Obama did not need any more bad news from his problematic CIA director, news came that an Air Force-operated MQ-9 Reaper drone on counter-terrorist and counter-piracy duty in the Indian Ocean crashed and burst into flames on landing at the international airport on Mahe island in the Seychelles. Most Air Force Reapers are remotely-piloted from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Why would Petraeus risk his job as CIA director by embarrassing his commander-in-chief? For starters, being Vice President under President Gingrich or President Romney would be a much better job.....and he will be heading the Odious and the most Infamous White House Murder INC, from the despicable WH....

But then again, hubris tends to ignore the self evident. Sadly, naïveté is hubris's best friend with the price being paid by others for now... Blowback anyone?

من حق رفاق الدرب، وهم على وفرة كبيرة مقدارَ ما كان صاحب الذكرى أخّاذاً ومستقطباً وكاريسمياً، ان يعلوا في سنة غيابه العاشرة تحديدا رمزية الذكرى ملتصقة بـ"الربيع العربي"، فهو حين كان لبنان يرزح تحت جاهليته الاهلية في لغة الدمار والدماء وقبع العرب مع العالم متفرجين عليه في السبعينيات والثمانينيات، راح يصدر تلك الاحلام "المجنونة" آنذاك، احلام المواطنة أو العلمانية الحرية والانعتاق

مثل هذا المفهوم يساور معظمنا اليوم، فيما الايدي على القلوب لرؤية اخطار هائلة ومحاذير واقعية في زحف بعض الظواهر المتطرفة المحمولة مع الثورات

إن الإنسان المؤمن بربه وبكتبه المقدسة وبتعاليمه وبموت وقيامة السيد المسيح لا يموت، بل يرقد على رجاء القيامة بانتظار يوم الحساب الأخير، والرب الذي وهب الإنسان نعمة الحياة هو وحده يقرر متى يستردها وليس أي مخلوق أخر.

اليوم ونحن نصلي في الذكرى التاسعة لروح الشهيد النائب والوزير الراحل ايلي حبيقة نردد بايمان وخشوع ووقار ما قاله النبي أيوب رغم كل المصائب التي حلت عليه فيما كان الشيطان يحاول جاهداً إيقاعه في التجربة دون أن يتمكن من أن يحقق هدفه اللعين هذا كون إيمان أيوب بربه كان قوياً وراسخاً: "عرياناً خرجت من بطن أمي، وعرياناً أعود إلى هناك، الرب أعطى والرب أخذ تبارك اسم الرب". (ايوب01/21).

يقول السيد المسيح: "أَنَا هُوَ الْقِيَامَةُ وَالْحَيَاةُ. مَنْ آمَنَ بِي، وَإِنْ مَاتَ فَسَيَحْيَا" (يوحنا 25/11). إن تعلقنا بلبناننا الحبيب حتى الشهادة يعزينا ويقوي إيماننا ويرسخ الرجاء في نفوسنا ويساعدنا على تقبل غياب الشهداء الأبرار برضوخ كامل لمشيئة أبينا السماوي فهم لا يموتون بل يبقون أحياء في وجداننا وضمائرنا وقلوبنا وعقولنا وفي كل عمل نقوم به يهدف لخدمة ومساعدة الآخرين الذين هم بحاجة إلينا.

يقول الشاعر: "ما استحق أن يعيش، من عاش لنفسه فقط". لذلك فالشخص المؤمن يجد لذته في أن يحيا لأجل غيره، عملاًً بقول الرب، "تحب قريبك كنفسك" (متى39/22). ولهذا يحب كل الناس من أعماق قلبه وتكون محبته للآخرين محبة عملية حسبما قال الرسول يوحنا: "يا أبنائي، لا تكن محبتنا بالكلام أو باللسان بل بالعمل والحق". (1يو18:3).

هذه المحبة العظيمة، والله هو محبة، تتميز بالعطاء والبذل والتفاني سواء من الناحية الجسدية، أو الناحية الروحية. لذلك فإن الشخص المؤمن والمعطاء والصادق هو بطبيعته إنسان نقي وتقي وشفاف وصادق ومحب يخاف الله الذي خلقه على صورته ومثاله.

هذا الإنسان يجهد بفرح كبير ليكون خادماً يخدم غيره في كل المجالات، لا لأنه مطالب بهذا، وإنما لأن الخدمة جزء من طبيعته ونفسيته وثقافته، ومكون أساسي من مكونات كيانه الإيماني. في خدمة الآخرين يشعر بالحب ويتغذى روحياً من تقديم الخدمات أكثر مما يغذي غيره بها. وإذا كانت الخدمة هي من عمل الملائكة (عبرانيين14:1)، فكم بالأولى البشر. وقد أعطانا السيد المسيح المثال الأبلغ في هذا الشأن إذ قال: "ومن أراد أن يكون الأول فيكم، فليكن لكم عبدا، وهكذا ابن الإنسان جاء لا ليخدمه الناس، بل ليخدمهم ويفدي بحياته كثيراً منهم". (متى 20/27 و28)

جاء في إنجيل القديس يوحنا (15/13): "ما من حب أعظم من هذا: أن يضحي الإنسان بنفسه في سبيل أحبائه". وقال الشهيد النائب والوزير الراحل ايلي حبيقة: "إن الوطن الذي لا يفتديه شبابه بأرواحهم لا يستمر ويزول. إن خدمة الآخرين وبذل الذات من أجلهم هي أعمال مقدسة والمسيح الإله قبل الصلب والعذاب والإهانات وقدم نفسه على الصليب فداء للإنسان ليعتقه من نير وعبودية الخطيئة ويحرره.

إن الشهيد لا يطلب شيئاً لنفسه من مقتنيات هذه الدنيا الفانية، وإنما يسعي لنيل بركات الله ليستحق بجدارة أفعاله وإيمانه العودة إلى منزل أبيه السماوي، والمسيح قال لنا: "ماذا ينفع الإنسان لو ربح العالم كله وخسر نفسه". (متى 16/26).

الشهيد هو قربان طاهر يقدم نفسه طواعية على مذبح الله بمحبة واندفاع وفرح من أجل أحبائه تماماً كما هو حال كل شهيد من شهداء لبنان الأبرار. عرفاناً بجميلهم نقول أنه وبفضل استشهادهم بقينا، وسوف نبقى بإذن الله طالما بقي الشباب اللبناني مؤمنا بلبنان وبرسالته وعلى استعداد تام ودائم للشهادة.

الشهيد النائب والوزير الراحل ايلي حبيقة لم يمت لأنه باق في كل جهد وعمل يقوم بهما أي لبناني من أجل الحفاظ على سيادة واستقلال وحرية وطنه الحبيب، ولصون كرامة وعزة اللبنانيين، كما أن عائلة حبيقة هي نبع معطاء لا ينضب في دفق الإيمان والوطنية والشهادة للحق والشهداء من أجل لبنان الرسالة والقداسة والقديسين.

I have always been opposed to systems of “objective” analysis of real world problems in the analysis of human affairs. I have opposed them whether in intelligence or in academia. The great difficulty with objective systems is that they inevitably build models for whatever they are studying. Such models require that a problem be “factored” for the elements of the study. This creates artificialities since human affairs concern humans and humans are more complex than any model can be made unless the subject studied is extremely narrow. Any widening of the subject beyond something like a market place mechanism is likely to lead to false results through an inability to reflect actual human thought.....

- I view all of human experience as a continuum extending through time, developing, expanding and reflecting an accumulation of learning and development by human groups in a variety of paths, some of which share characteristics and many of which do not. This is basically a river of moving data that is growing and changing as it flows. We live in a small segment of that river’s current but the course of the river upstream has made our piece of the river what it is and the river flowing through and past us creates a future that is shaped by the stream as it flows forward in time. This does not mean that what has been will necessarily be, but it does mean that the elements of the past will be present in any future. It means that something truly new in human affairs is a rarity. We often think things are new but usually that is because we do not know enough about the past. I watch continuously for what have recently been called “black swans.”

What the "Church Fathers" have rejected as heresy you shall now accept as Orthodox". Nor has the Papacy ever denounced the primacy of the Pope who, from a Patristic point of view, is claiming attributes which solely belong the Universal Church....

Christ tells us not to fear those who can kill our bodies, but only those who can kill our souls. So now instead of killing Orthodox Christians (as in the past), the Papacy is telling us that it and the Church are two lungs of one Body, even though Saint Athanasius clearly taught us that true Christianity is the faith "which the Lord gave, was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers. So , which is the bigger threat to the Orthodox Christian, the Jesuit who wants to kill him at majorem Dei gloriam, or the smiling modern Jesuit who tells him that they are now both brothers in Christ as long as the Primacy of the Pope is accepted and that nothing else really matters?

The famous dialog "The Great Inquisitor" in Dostoevsky's "Karamazov Brothers". Remember what the Inquisitor tells Christ? "You have done your part, now leave us alone, we are now in charge". That has ALWAYS been the message of the Papacy, from the Frankish invasion of Byzantium to today's "ecumenical dialog of love" between the Pope and the thug and Mafia-boss Kirill Gundaev who fancies himself Patriarch of Russia....

The Papacy will always welcome the (ex-)Orthodox with open arms, as long as they, in turn, forget about the Truth which the Lord gave, was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers and upon which the Church was founded.... That is exactly the option given to Christ by Satan when he was tempted in the desert...

That is the option which we, Orthodox Christians, shall never, ever accept.....

Revolutionary change is, I believe, in itself neutral or, rather, non-defined as such....

When revolutionary process is the result of a belief in the power of Man to make the world a just place, when it offers a hope for a paradise on Earth, an "achievable utopia". then it is an 'opium of the people' way more toxic than what any religion has ever offered. From the Tower of Babel, to the WTC buildings, from secularists of the so-called "Enlightenment" to Marx, Hitler or Fukuyama, there has always been a type of man who wanted to "reach the heavens" and to declare to mankind that ye shall be as gods if you are without God. This type of revolution always begins with promises of paradise and ends in a hellish bloodbath....

But revolutionary change can also be a process which begins with the paradoxical realization that man can only free himself by submitting to God. This is the basic truth with most, if not all, religions share. This is what Christ meant when he said without me ye can do nothing. This is what Hassan Nasrallah refers to when he begins his speech with the words I take refuge in Allah from the stoned Satan or what Ahmadinejad referred to in his 2008 speech at the UN when he said God Almighty has tied their perfection and true freedom of humans to their devotion and obedience to Himself. True freedom and obedience to God are in balance and in fact are two sides of the same coin (...) Humans need to know God in order to realize a prosperous society in this world as well as to strive for a beautiful eternal life. This is what the Hindu tradition calls the doctrine of Prapatti (which Swami Siwananda defined as 1. the acquisition of virtues which would make one a fit offering to God; 2. avoidance of conduct not acceptable to God; 3. faith that the Lord will always protect him; 4. appeal to the Lord for protection and mercy; 5. a feeling of one’s own littleness; and 6. total surrender. The first five are the means to the attainment of absolute self-surrender.

In this latter case, the revolutionary process becomes filled with an internal dimension which can make the world better, even if only on the margins, and only for a while....

There is only ONE *real* liberation, the one which Christ refers to when He says If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free and that is the re-union with the Theandric Body of Christ - His Church - followed by theosis, what the Church hymns often call the "co-resurrection with Christ". However, the process of standing up against evil, of deliberately submitting one's will to God, can take many forms and, I believe, that it can also have the visible manifestation of a stance against oppression in a political process...
